Cable Experiments

There are lots of books about knitting cables.  Within those books, there are innumerable patterns and charts that show all different types of cables and how do to them.  The problem with books and charts, at least for me, is copying doesn’t translate to understanding.  Sure, I can follow someone’s chart or pattern, and the results will be great.  However, if I experiment with the design then I’ll understand why it looks the way it does.

That’s what these pages are devoted to, my experimenting with cables.  I’ll walk you through how I’m learning different techniques and designs.  I’ll post my own creations, as well as how I tear apart and modify other patterns I come across.  It won’t always be pretty, but hopefully we can both learn something along the way.
